Enameled Satsuma Incense Burner Meiji Period,
Meiji Period, signed Kinkozan and with gilt Shimizu mon
The rectangular burner, with flaring sides and sloping shoulder and sloping cover surmounted by a seated shishi, is decorated with rakkan on the sides. The shoulder and cover are enameled with brocade reserves against a scrolling blue ground. Height 4 3/4 inches (12.1 cm).
