Westward Ho Lace Tablecloth Early 20th century
Lace Tablecloth
Early 20th century
Of machine made Alencon style lace, the one-of-kind virtuoso piece worked with an inner field of repeat alternating medallions depicting a paddle wheel steamboat, a steam locomotive, and a three-masted schooner, the border worked with American Indian warriors in a dense pine forest, alternating with ritualistic implements, the four corners worked with log cabins, and the center strip with clusters of arrows arranged in traditional trophy formation. Length 144 inches, width 66 inches.
Very good condition, some small brown spots, several small smoky gray smudged areas, one small whole in net.
Family history indicates the tablecloth was from the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, where the film The Shining was made.

Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000
