Western Tibetan Bronze of the Dhyanibuddha Amitabha 14th Century

Cast as a single piece with the exception of the flying fillets, the figure sits on a single lotus base with wide petals stopping just behind each knee. With traces of gilding on the face, the decoration comes from the elaborate jewelry which is highlighted on the body with incised copper inlay and silver wirework; unsealed base. Height 16 1/8 inches (41cm).
