The present works, executed in 1984, are studies for A Bridge, Race Gate (Christie's, New York, May 25, 2000, lot 158.) The view depicted in these works is the bridge over the Wyeth's race at the upper headgates in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
These watercolors will be included in Betsy James Wyeth's forthcoming catalogue raisonne of the artist's work.
