Two Art Nouveau Dance Card Cases
Austria, 1901/1902
The first of leather worked with woman's head with flowing hair amongst flowers, secessionist style sinuous lines, gilt-metal ornament at top with similar clip on silk cord, with pad and pencil, inscribed: Ball Der Architecten/1901/Tanzorgnung, the second from the Concordia Ball held on February 3, 1902, the exterior set with an enamel woman's head in profile and an openwork frame topped with winged animals, the interior a leather book with German writings, dance program and pencil.
