Michaele Vollbrach Quilted Kimono Coat
American, circa 1978
The voluminous wrap knee length, with vermiculate quilting overall, sewn in four quadrants, two of shiney silk and two matte, that alternate front to back and side to side, the front printed with two huge phoenixes ascending from each sleeve bottom and hem towards drooping stemmed poppies of equal scale, the back printed with grand stemmed flowers, edges outlined with traditional Chinese scrollwork applique pattern in white, the overall patterns in red, light blue, black and white, with areas overlaid with large silk colored sequins, labeled: Michaele Vollbrach and signature printed on coat.
Excellent condition.
