Ivory Figured Silk Empire Dress
American, circa 1810
The silk woven allover with small flowerheads and at bottom a disposition with neoclassical inspired floral border, the dress with square drawstring neckline, long sleeves with turned up cuffs of border pattern, the shoulders with vestigial epaulette decorations, separate belt, measurement under bust 32 inches.
Very good condition, possibly lengthened from waistband., small discolored area at back hem.
