Ivory Figured Silk Two-Piece Gown
American, circa 1840
The bodice closely fitted and boned, forming deep V below waist, and lacing-up the back, with self stand collar trimmed with purple ribbon and lace, dropped shoulder puffed sleeves with long net undersleeves ending in ruffles and trimmed with purple ribbon bows, the skirt pleated into waistband and tightly gathered at center back, deep pocket on right side, glazed cotton bodice lining, stamped: Grass Bleach with harp logo, skirt waist 26 inches.
Excellent condition, unworn, some brown residue in lining.
