The black velvet sheath with spaghetti straps and sweetheart neckline accented with black silk padded edging and decoration, size 4, labeled: Galanos.
Excellent condition, several minor marks to velvet.
The dress was featured by Bill Cunningham of the New York Times in 1985 as a modern version of the famous dress worn by the Parisian society woman known as 'Madame X' in the then scandalous late 19th century portrait by John Singer Sargeant.
