American, 1962
Silk jersey, black and white waves, one side sleeveless, single hook at shoulder, the other with dolman sleeve, size 6, labeled: Rudi Gernreich.
Very good condition, several minor snags, possible length alteration.
The dress is from the Resort Collection, 1962. See Moffitt and Claxton, The Rudi Gernreich Book, pp.44, 45 and Brigitte Felderer, Rudi Gernreich: Fashion Will Go Out of Fashion, p.168, for photo of similar dress in same fabric published in Los Angeles Herald Examiner, 1962.
