New York, M. Knoedler & Co., Alexander Calder: Small Scale, May-June 1982, illustrated in color on the cover.
According to the Calder Foundation, both the top and base of this work are by Alexander Calder. However, the top is from Wisp of Copper, 1973 and the base from Blue Polygon on Red, 1974. The parts were inadvertently switched by an art dealer after Calder's death. The work was acquired privately, not from the artist.
