The Fugs were a rock band formed in 1965 by the Beat writer Tuli Kupferberg and poet Ed Sanders in New York's East Village as an underground alternative to mainstream rock groups. Their world premiere was at Sander's Peace Eye Bookstore, featuring flowered wall hangings by Andy Warhol.
