Two Japanese Satsuma Boxes
Meiji Period
Comprising one of circular straight sided form, with a flat lid, on three tapering feet, designed with cartouches of women dancing, landscape and flowers on a bird and flower ground, the sides with blossoming flowers, base with seal; and a circular box, the lid with a group of females, the base with scholar's objects, ther interior base and lid with butterflies, base with a seal reading Kaizan sei. Diameter of larger 3 1/2 inches.
