Group of Twelve Japanese Netsuke
Meiji Period, 19th and 20th centuries
Comprising eight ivory, including boys with a fish, boys playing a drum dressed as a dragon, female with a bull, goose, figure hiding from an oni in a tree trunk, Ashinga and Tenaga, immortals with crane and tortoise and a figure with a gourd; three wood, including a buffalo and boy, and two oni groups; and a lacquer and mother-of-pearl fish. Length of largest 4 1/2 inches.
