Chinese Gilt-Bronze and Jade Sceptre
Early 19th century
The ruyi head and base with inset bright green celadon and chestnut striated jade carved with sage and deer in a landscape, the bronze cast with auspicious symbols in relief and chased with scrolling foliage on the reverse, the handle inset with white jade four-character mark, resting on a naturalistically carved wood base, all set onto a glass covered case, the base elaborately carved and pierced with stylized scrolling and with ivory inset paneling. Length of sceptre 19 inches, length of case 20 1/4 inches.

Jade in very good condition, no chips or breaks, bronze in very good condition, crisply cast, wood stand in very good condition; on case one ivory panel is off but we have it, glass is original and in good condition, very nice piece
