Chinese Bronze Jue
Shang Dynasty, 12th century B.C.
Of characteristic tripod form, raised on three splayed legs, the deep body encircled with a band of taotie masks divided by three notched flanges, below upright leaf tip border at the rim and underside of the long U-shaped spout, the rim set with two upright poles, set with side loop handle, the patina a mottled grayish green. Height 7 1/4 inches.

one leg broken off ( we have the leg ) one finial broken off ( we have the finial ) crack to rim on one side about 3/4" long, crack to rim opposite side of spout about 1/2 inch long, very crisply cast.
