Neither examined out of frame.

Woman: Surface dirt. Appears to be glue relined. 1/2" spot of inpaint above sitter's head, with corresponding patch on reverse. 2" x 2" V-shaped repaired tear in right side of dress, with corresponding patch on reverse. 1/2" repaired tear just below right shoulder, 1 1/2" repaired tear above right shoulder.

Man: Relined. Numerous spots of inpaint scattered around perimeter, due to frame rubbing. Several small isolated spots of inpaint in background and sitter's frock coat. Two approx. 1 1/2" repairs at lower edge. 4" area of repair at top center, in background. Fine horizontal lines of inpaint at left edge.
