Two Japanese Kozuka
19th Century
One shakudo with a raised rim, decorated with four black ants in taka-bori of shakudo carrying wheat grains in taka-bori of gold on a fine nanako ground; the other shakudo and nanako with two snapping turtles and gold and copper sasa leaves, the larger turtle climbing over a rock, worked in gold, maru-ori, reverse shakudo, ji-migaki. Lengths 3 3/4 inches.
