Two Japanese Fuchi-Kashira
19th Century
One worked in shibuichi and ji-magaki, the fuchi decorated with a monkey in taka-bori of copper hiding in a hollow tree trunk in usu-niki-bori with zogan of gold, the kashira with a falcon seizing a small monkey in taka-bori of copper, signed Masakune; the other in shibuichi and ji-migaki, the fuchi with five birds perched on the handle of an ax with blades of grasses surrounding, the kashira with a branch of a tree under a crescent moon, all worked in taka-bori of gold, silver shibuichi and copper. Lengths 1 1/2 inches.
