Two Japanese Fuchi-Kashira
19th Century
One worked in shakudo and nanako, both pieces with flying taka-bori of copper birds on a nanaka ground, kashira in two parts; the other iron, the fuchi with two melons opening into fruit exposing seeds in taka-bori of iron, gold and shakudo, the kashira in the shape of an open nut exposing the seed within, the seed in gold; Together with an Iron Kashira. Worked with a large tiger in relief with gold inlaid stripes and silver eyes. Lengths 1 1/2 inches.
