This painting depicts the king's yacht, "The Royal George," flying his majesty's standard, being towed by paddle tug into Leith Harbor. The tug is said to be the "James Watt," the first steam vessel registered by Lloyd's of London.

Lined. Frame rubbing. Scattered cracquelure throughout, though mostly confined to the center and upper half of the work. Few scattered spots along the left center edge.

Inpainting along all four edges, specifically the left and bottom edge. Few other scattered spots of inpainting at the upper center edge, in the further boat just to the left of center, and a spot in the flag at right. There is also minor inpainitng along the stretcher marks, particularly the left edge.
