Frame rubbing. Visible stretcher marks. Heavy scattered cracquelure throughout. Paint is beginning to flake near the man's neck as well as at his left shoulder. There is a bull's eye area of cracquelure in the man's right cheek. Few scattered spots of discoloration along the bottom edge.
Heavy masking varnish makes detecting restoration under UV light rather difficult, though there does appear to be retouching in the man's face, just above his head, at the bottom right corner and possibly in the ermine garb at the lower left. Condition commensurate with age.
