Chinese Export Porcelain Tureen and Cover
Circa 1780
Modeled as a melon, the cover with a gilt leafy tendril-form knop, painted overall in the famille rose palette of floral sprays; Together with a Covered Teapot. In the form of a blossom, the perpendicularly set handle and spout shaped as a turquoise and black enameled furled leaf, the lid with a butterfly finial. Length of first 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm).

Tureen-All leaves and branches on lid chipped, three of the four repaired. Vine handle has been broken and repaired. Heavily restored.
