Chinese Export Porcelain Vase
Circa 1770
Of ovoid form, with a flared rim mounted on the shoulder with stylized gilt handles, one side enameled with Mandarin ladies and children on a garden terrace, the reverse with men and women in a garden setting alternating with smaller bird and flower, foliate and European landscape cartouches, on a gilt scrolling foliate ground between square scrolling bands at the foot and rim. Height 17 inches (43.2 cm).
