Chinese Jade Model of a Recumbent Horse
19th Century
Naturalistically rendered lying with the legs tucked beneath the body, the head turned resting in the curve of the back, the long tail sweeping over the hind leg and front hoof, the stone a celadon with russet and dark gray inclusions, carved wood base. Height 3 1/4 inches, width 6 1/2 inches.
