Empire Style Gilt-Metal Mounted Mahogany Bookcase Cabinet
The recessed upper tripartite section with a shaped cornice and plain frieze decorated with cast figures of winged victory, cornucopias and portrait masks, above three glazed doors enclosing wood shelves flanked by tapering square columnar supports surmounted by female busts and ending in human feet, the conforming lower section with three short frieze drawers above three recessed cupboard doors with female masks, laurel wreath, winged victories and a central profile bust of Napoleon and Josephine flanked by monopode supports, ending on a plinth. Height 7 feet 2 inches, width 6 feet 4 3/4 inches, depth 22 1/2 inches.
