George II Feather Banded Walnut Bureau Bookcase
Second quarter of the 18th century
In two parts, the upper section with a pair of beveled mirrored cupboard doors opening to shelves and an arrangement of four drawers and a document slide, the lower section with a hinged drawer opening to reveal an interior fitted for writing over three long graduated drawers, raised on bracket feet. Height 7 feet 3 1/2 inches (2.22 m), width 44 3/4 inches (1.13 m), depth 19 inches (48.3 cm).
