[WHIPPLE FAMILY] WHIPPLE, WILLIAM [Signer from New Hampshire]. Autograph letter signed to his brother.

Portsmouth: 29 November 1774. 1 page autograph letter signed "Wm: Whipple" on one sheet, addressed to his brother [likely Joseph Whipple] advising him to "repair to winter quarters" and to bring money to pay a debt to Captain Moffatt. Docketted on verso. 7 1/2 x 6 inches (19 x 15 cm). Splits at folds, very good overall; Together with an accounting document between Whipple and John Langdon [Signer of the Constitution]. Portsmouth: 4 February 1784. Accounting document for purchases made between 1780 and 1783 for large amounts of lumber, oats, rum, other supplies and the use of a gondola. Possibly in the hand of Whipple and signed by him on the verso, the document bears two Langdon signatures, most likely in a secretarial hand. 7 1/2 x 12 inches (19 x 30 cm). Split along folds.
