CLEMENS, SAMUEL L. (=TWAIN, MARK). The Writings of Mark Twain.
. Hartford: American Publishing Company, 1899 [-1907]. Volume I from the Autograph Edition, which includes the first volume with the limitation leaf signed as both Samuel Clemens and Mark Twain, the balance the De Luxe edition. Twenty-five volumes, bound in three-quarters blue morocco, decorated paper sides, top edges gilt. 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches (21.5 x 15 cm); frontispieces, plates. Spines slightly darkened, some minor wear and abrasions.
The title page monogram was designed by Tiffany and Company and engraved by Bicknell.
