Modern chestnut brown morocco by Bennett of New York, with a gilt stamped ship motif to the upper cover inlaid in white morocco, spine stamped with nautical motifs, five raised bands, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, slipcased. 7 1/8 x 4 1/2 inches (18 x 12 cm); [i-xxiv], 634 pp, [1], [6 pp. publisher's ads], the original cloth and spine mounted on the terminal binder's blanks. An exceptionally fresh and bright example, most handsomely presented.
