OKEEFFE, GEORGIA Christmas card, signed and inscribed; Together with a Photograph of Rene Magritte
Christmas card, signed and inscribed. The card 8 3/8 x 11 1/4 inches (21.5 x 28.5 cm), the front with the artists's Starlight Night, 1917, boldly inscribed "Greetings Elizabeth [Arden] for Xmas and/1964/Sincerely/Georgia O'Keefe; Together with an inscribed photograph of Rene Magritte, inscribed in black ink "pour Miss Elizabeth Arden/aimiablement/Magritte 1949." 5 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches (13.5 x 11.5 cm). Both with very minor wear and toning.
The recipient of these items was Florence Nightingale Graham, who went by the business name Elizabeth Arden, whose beauty products are still marketed today.
