. [France:] 2 February, 1918. 1 1/2 page autograph letter in ink signed "George S. Patton Jr." on recto and verso of one sheet, addressed "Dear Mama." 10 5/8 x 8 1/4 inches (27 x 21 cm); framed with a youthful portrait and a transcription. Folds, edges toned.
Patton served in World War I and at the time of this letter had been promoted to Major and was to become head of the Tank School at Langres.
