, comprising HAYES, RUTHERFORD B. Appointment signed. Washington: 4 August 1880. Partially printed document accomplished in manuscript appointing J.V. Merrick a Commissioner of the Centennial Exposition of the Treaty of Peace, signed "RB Hayes" as President and countersigned by the Secretary of State. 10 x 16 inches (26 x 40.5 cm). Framed; ARTHUR, CHESTER. Signature on Executive Mansion Mourning Card. [Washington: no date, but likely during 1881 after the assassination of James Garfield]. 3 x 5 inches (9 x 12 cm). Framed with a portrait; CLEVELAND, GROVER. Postal appointment signed. Washington: 2 February 1888. Signed as President and with countersignature of the Postmaster General, with large paper-covered seal with ribbon. 12 1/2 x 16 inches (.2.4 x 40 cm); framed. HARRISON, BENJAMIN. Military appointment signed. Washington: 12 January 1891. Engraved document with two vignettes, the document appointing Anthony Heger surgeon with the rank of colonel, signed by the President and countersigned by the Secretary of War, with paper-covered seal. 18 x 15 inches (46 x 38 cm). Framed. The Hayes with folds and one visible crease and ink spot, the Cleveland with folds and offsetting from seal and likely not laid down, the Harrison a fine large document, unexamined out of frames.
