. Philadelphia: Mathew Carey, November 12, 1794. Second American edition. Contemporary calf. 7 3/4 x 4 5/8 inches (20 x 11.5 cm); 336 pp., with folding table, lacks map. Boards detached and binding worn, signature to title "Henry Remsen 1795," stamp to title and ink numbering to verso, a few spots but clean overall, lacks map as noted.
A fine association copy as Henry Remsen, Jr. (1762-1843) was Thomas Jefferson's personal secretary during his tenure as Secretary of State in the period just before the printing of this second edition. Evans 27162; Howes J78; Sabin 35898.
