. New York: Hugh Gaine, [1789]. First edition, signed on the title page "Robt. H. Morris 1820," this signature repeated at p. 95 and in volume II. Two volumes, in varying modern cloth. 15 1/4 x 10 inches (39 x 26 cm); Volume I: [4], 336, [12], xii, [4] pp.; Volume II: [2], 471, [18] pp. Titles stamped, tape repair in volume I, some light thumbsoiling and small stains.
The important Varick and Jones edition of New York's post-Revolutionary laws, from 1778 on. The title page vignette was engraved by Peter Maverick, according to ESTC. Evans 22012
