, being color photographs printed on Kodak paper, each approximately 4 x 5 inches (10.5 x 13 cm), the negatives each housed in wax paper sleeves with markings, each approximately 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches (6.5 x 6.5 cm). Very good overall, some remnants of mounting to verso, two images with surface defects, lightly handled.
Apollo 10 was the dress rehearsal for the lunar landing, which was accomplished by Apollo 11 just months later. These striking vintage color photographs are extremely rare and consist of four images of the earthrise, one of the lunar module Snoopy's ascent with the moon in the background, one of the moon, and four images of craters on the moon's surface.
Provenance: Gifted to Grumman Engineer Herbert R. Grossman, who in 1969 was Chief Engineer for the moon landing module at the Kennedy Space Center, and then by descent in the family.
