First edition, one of 100 copies, this number 22, a presentation copy to the sporting writer and collector Harry Worcester Smith (inscribed on the endpaper), with a presentation letter (signed "Frank"), and additionally signed by Griswold on the title. Gray paper over boards, simili-Japon spine, top edge gilt. 8 1/2 x 6 inches (21.5 x 15 cm); frontispiece, [8], 49 pp., illustrated with 13 engraved plates in total, errata slip tipped-in at end. Some soiling and light wear, light foxing to initial and terminal leaves, with Harry Worcester Smith's bookplate, Griswold's letter to him in an envelope mounted to first blank, another bookplate on verso of free endpaper.
A rare Derrydale Press book, and to boot a superb association copy between two of the great American sportsmen of the era. Siegel The Derrydale Press 23.
