. A large group of the influential fashion periodical published in Paris and the U.S., 1960s-80s. Comprising Numbers 1 & 2. Paris: Societe d'Editions de Modes, March & June 1962. Both 3 parts in 1, published in March and June of 1962 predicting the fashion trends for spring and summer 1962, winter 1962-63, and summer 1963, number 1 unnumbered, number 2 copy 18, both from the estimated edition of 300 sets. The contents loose single sheets or folded signatures as issued, housed in the original cloth cases. 11 x 9 1/4 inches (28 x 24 cm); 256 & 232 pp. of reproduced fashion drawings, text and captions in English and French printed in vivid colors describing the several hundred mounted, inlaid and overlaid color samples and fabric swatches in lace, wool, cotton, silk, leather and other materials within; also included are approximately 22 loose or mounted photographs of models, etc.; Approximately fifty-five installments of Presage, 1960s-80, with various ephemera. This run commencing with the Presage Paris Choisit Selection No. 1, September 1962 and Spring 1963, being the Coloris and Lainages parts both housed in the green card boxes; No. 15, Vol. B, 1968 and No. 16, 1969, the latter in boards made of burnished Styrofoam and foil; and a very comprehensive run of numbers from 1970-1987 with few hiatuses (in this era, in order to make the publication more cost effective and to orient individual portions of the publication directly to fashion specialists, Presage was published in multiple parts per year devoted to color, wool, future sketches, etc.) Each generally in a printed folded card notebook with long folded sheets features fashion designs and various inserted samples, color charts, etc. Also included are several Sketch Future booklets in original wrappers and archival Presage publication ephemera including subscription forms, promotional material, etc. The whole somewhat worn and handled, some insertions possibly detached or lacking, some small stains, contains a few duplicates, not fully collated and sold as is.
