A variant to this image appears in Robert Coles The Darkness and the Light, 1974 p. 62. According to The Life and Photography of Doris Ulmann by Philip Walker Jacobs pp. 162, 163 & Appendix Four, the Doris Ulmann Foundation hired Samuel H. Lifshey to print undeveloped Ulmann plates and other Ulmann prints about 1935 to 1937. These prints were given a stamped facsimile signature.
