Facinating group of newspapers from 1864/1865 detailing some of the events taking place during this important time in American history. Articles tell of Lincoln's Assassination, his burial and the chase for John Wilkes Booth, battle topics or surrenders, and Advice to Negro Soldiers. Papers include the Syracuse Daily Journal 1865 (14) and Brownlow's Knoxville Whig 1864 (17), all have been folded and show signs of wear and tear.
