Carcharodontosaurus Therapod Dinosaur Claw
Kem Kem Formation, Taouz, North Africa, Cretaceous age, 100-93 million years old
This massive claw measuring some 6 inches in length and 2 inches side, is incredibly rare and is without restoration.
From a Carcharodontosaurus that existed during the late Cretaceous Period. It was a carnivore, a large fierce predator with enormous jaws and claws that could kill even large Sauropods. Most probably slightly bigger than Tyrannosaurus, it is often falsely dubbed the 'African T-Rex'. Differences such as size and shape of the skull and overall body proportions reveal that it is clear that the two are completely unrelated. It attained lengths of up to 45 feet and weighed in at about 6-8 tons and may have been nearly 17 feet tall. Some diligent and careful restoration has been completed using original bone fragments. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
