Federal Inlaid Mahogany and Brass Mounted Tall Case Clock
Aaron Willard, circa 1810
Bearing printed Aaron Willard Boston label inscribed by hand 1789.
The pierced scrolled and arched crest with three brass finials over a painted dial with moon phase, subsidiary seconds dial and day-of-the-month, all flanked by brass inset stop-fluted columns, the case with molded door, flanked by brass inset and mounted stop-fluted corner columns, the molded base on ogee bracket feet. Height 8 feet 3/4 inch, width 20 inches, depth 9 3/4 inches.

Cracks to crest, but appears to be original, repairs to feet; bottom panel of base is cracked and coming apart on the underside of clock; lacking a few glue blocks to underside of base; craquelure and scattered paint losses to surface of dial; small old chip to right front corner of case cornice; door molding loose; dents to corner column on left side; shrinkage cracks to left side of base
