Russian Silver-Gilt and Niello Snuff Box
Maker's mark indistinct, Moscow, 1819
Rectangular with rounded corners, the hinged cover depicting Emperor Alexander I with Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III and Emperor Franz I of Austria above the Russian inscription One for all, the base depicting Emperor Alexander I and Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna beneath a double-headed eagle holding laurel crowns and above the Russian inscription Peace in Europe. Length 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm).
