Regency Brass-Inlaid Mahogany Carlton House Desk

The U-shaped superstructure with drawers centered by a prospect door, the sloping sides with drawers, the right drawer fitted with inkwells, the hinged leather-lined writing panel on a ratchet support, over three frieze drawers with ivory escutcheons, raised on square tapering legs ending in cuffed feet. Height overall 37 3/4 inches (95.8 cm), height of writing surface 28 3/4 inches (73 cm), width 54 inches (1.37 m), depth 27 1/2 inches (69.8 cm).
