Additional Notes & Condition Report

The body appears to be in generally good condition, however, the metal mounts were not removed for a proper examination; there do not appear to be any hairline cracks to the body; the vase has been drilled on the bottom, at its center, for use as a lamp; there is a uniform network of tiny craze lines throughout the glaze, typical for the medium and therefore not of any consequence; there is an area along one side of the vase that has a concentrated area of dense, pinhead-size and smaller burst air bubbles in the glaze, as made, and not of any real consequence; these burst glaze bubbles extend nearly the full height of the vase and perhaps a few inches in width; in addition, there are a few other scattered pinhead-size burst air bubbles in the glaze (perhaps three or so), also not of any real significance; there are a few light/superficial scratch marks to the glaze, located in the shoulder area, not of any great consequence; there is wear and dulling and spot discoloration to the gilding on the metal mounts; there is a fracture/stress crack to a part of the bottom metal mount, on the underside, however, the mount appears to be very stable and not in danger of breaking away or separating; the lamp has two-light sockets with pull chains and a fabric cord; the pull chains appear to be in working condition; the light sockets have not been tested, however, it is presumed that each is in working condition; the pleated fabric shade appears to be in generally good, clean condition; there is, however, some soiling/dirtiness to the piping along the top rim edge of the shade
