Designed in 1981, the year the Memphis Group was formed, Thun's Nefertiti teapot is a cartoonish take on a classic form. The name references the conical form which is inspired by the Egyptian pyramids.
Other Nefertiti teapots are in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, New York and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond.
