Chinese Longquan Celadon Vase
Ming Dynasty
The ovoid body set on a slightly waisted foot and rising to a short tapered neck, the body carved in relief with blossoming peony bushes issuing from a plain band above an upright line band at the foot, the shoulder with a further incised band below a leaf tip border at the neck, covered in a thick crackled sea-green glaze except for the unglazed foot burnt orange in firing. Height 13 3/4 inches.
