Chinese Leather Bound Folio 'The Costumes of China'
Illustrated by Pu-Qua and written by George Henry Mason. Printed for W. Miller in 1799-1800 by S. Gosnell, Little Queen Street, Holborn, London
The text in English and French and illustrated with 60 large full-page colored engravings, each plate annotated as drawn by Pu-Qua of Canton but engraved by Dadley of London, including two of a gentleman and a lady of distinction and the others of figures in various professions. Length 14 1/2 inches, width 11 inches.

off set to text from plates, stray stains, in mark to text on plate 25, light foxing, front end paper detached, stain where book plate removed, in inscription to pastedown, front free end paper, binding rubbed, scruffed with small losses to spine extremities, scratches to boards, binding red strait grain morocco, plates have watermarks of 1805
