First American edition, one of 385 copies, signed "Edward" and numbered 7 from the edition; this copy with a tipped-in presentation on Edward's notepaper, "To Margaret with best wishes", signed and dated April 1951. Publisher's red morocco gilt, with the three arms of Edward, as Prince, King and Duke, on the upper cover, moire silk endpapers. 9 1/4 x 6 inches (23.5 x 15 cm); xii, 435 pp. Front joint separated, some wear.
Presentation copies of the book are comparatively uncommon.
