. London, Toronto, etc: Cassell & Co., 1948-1954. First English trade editions, with "First Published 1948-[54]" on the copyright pages. Six volumes, three-quarters blue morocco gilt, the spines tooled and lettered in gilt with raised bands, cloth sides. 8 1/4 x 5 1/2 (21 x 14 cm); various paginations. Spines somewhat sunned, volume V with a slight bump to the head of the spine.
